The weatherman predicts a week full of rain, so grabbing my camera, I took the nine-mile drive along the western side of Discovery Bay. The water at the south end of Discovery Bay was so still!
So many Canadian Geese flying overhead.
Looking across Discovery Bay.
Gardiner, WA near the mouth (north end) of Discovery Bay.
The mouth of Discovery Bay from Gardiner Beach Road, with the Miller Peninsula on the left, the Quimper Peninsula on the right and the Strait of Juan de Fuca straight ahead.
While walking along the beach and saltwater mud flats, this blue heron kept an eye on my meanderings.
Craning his neck, the heron obliging posed for pictures.
Even the washed up remains of a lion maned jellyfish had fall colors. I was surprised how big it was – a good 18 inches or more.

Beautiful! So evocative of the area and the season!
