I’ll be the first to admit, I’m a book-aholic (just ask my husband and the over 500 books in the house … and that’s after decluttering when we moved here 4 years ago). And as much as I love my Kindle, there’s something about holding a book in your hands that can’t be mimicked by any e-reader. So it’s no surprise that I love to haunt bookstores, especially during the dark and rainy winter and early spring season.

Pacific Mist Books, an independent bookstore, is what every bookstore should be. Open, inviting and welcoming, it’s a bookophile’s paradise, with something for just about anyone. Primarily books, cards, gifts and some local artists’ works available, as well a great little local interest section. Books range the gamut of genres, with most titles only having one copy on the shelf.

I love to hang out here, just talking books and getting introduced to new titles displayed at the Caitlin Recommends table.

Nooks and crannies harbor special interest or seasonal offerings. Spring is just about here, not that the weather is paying attention to the calendar, which means it’s time to browse the gardening section both for books and gifts. And the quilts, because I do love those!

Thanks to my mom (in red) and Caitlin for being my models. Because otherwise the photo would be all about the local fudge. Which I’ve bought my fair share of.
