Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Library

After nearly three years, the Jamestown S’Kallam Tribal Library reopened last weekend. While I didn’t have a chance to go to the grand opening ceremony, I did make it out later in the week. The award winning library is open to the public and specializes in materials by and about Native American Indians with a special focus on the people of the Pacific Northwest.

House of Myths Carving Shed

It's hard to miss the more than 35 totem poles that grace the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe's campus in Blyn, in Sequim, Port Angeles and even Port Townsend.  While not open to the public, I recently had the opportunity to tour the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe's House of Myths Carving Shed, located in Jamestown, Washington. It's here that new totem poles are carved, and old ones are restored and refurbished.
